Starting since 2009, the Revista Mexicana de Ciencias Geológicas (RMCG) is being published only online. This new presentation will allow publishing a larger number of high-quality, peer-reviewed manuscripts in three annual issues. Also, our goal is to improve the efficiency of the editorial process in order to reduce the time taken from receipt of manuscript to publication of the accepted paper. The Editorial Board assumes the responsibility to comply with these goals, but the high international standards of the journal can be maintained thanks to the authors who submit high-quality contributions.
The objective of the RMCG is to publish the results of original research on geological processes of general and broad interest, and particularly the results of investigations that apply to areas of Latin America. The journal also offers an open forum for discussion of the published contributions, as well as the opportunity for host editors to publish special issues. The submitted contributions are subjected to a preliminary editorial review and, given the case, they are sent for external peer-review. This process is essential for providing a certification of the scientific contributions in the papers. For this reason, we thank to the many international, expert reviewers who devoted time and efforts to the review of manuscripts submitted to the RMCG.
Finally, we invite authors to support the RMCG by submitting the result of their research. To achieve our objective of quick publication, we ask the contributors to follow carefully the Guidelines for Authors.
