Abstract

In the present paper, a fauna made up of ammonites and an aptychus collected in the La Casita Formation of Sierra de Palotes is studied. The sampling was carried out from the material which is exposed in Cuencamé area, Durango.

Two families, four genera and three species of Kimmeridgian age were recognized; Lamellaptychus murocostatus Trauth is reported for the first time in Mexico.

Bivalves from the families Buchiidae Cox, 1953 and Pectinidae Rafinesque, 1815 were also recorded in different levels of the studied outcrops.
